Declaration
1.Fundraising Commitment  

1.A. I commit to raising a minimum of £450 in sponsorship for my chosen SuperHalfs event. 

1.B. 75% of my fundraising minimum is due to Spinal Research four months before the event date unless specified otherwise in writing. The remainder is due within four weeks of the event date.  

1.C. If I do not reach the first fundraising minimum, Spinal Research has the right to revoke my place.  

1.D. Failure to meet the overall fundraising minimum may affect my eligibility for future charity places with Spinal Research. 

I.E. I understand that Gift Aid is not included in my fundraising minimum, but that Gift Aid is a valuable additional contribution to Spinal Research. 

  

2.Event Participation, Registration & Costs 

2.A. I acknowledge that Spinal Research may incur costs as a result of my participation in this challenge (e.g., cost of charity entry, producing and sending technical tops). The objective is to raise as much sponsorship as possible 

2.B. I understand that my registration fee is non-refundable and cannot be rolled over to another event.  

2.C. I understand that my place is non-transferable and cannot be deferred, as Spinal Research is not guaranteed places in future SuperHalfs events.  

2.D. If I do not take part in the event, any sponsorship money raised will be treated as a donation to Spinal Research.  

2.E. If any sponsors wish to request a refund, they must contact Spinal Research directly and meet specific criteria to be eligible for reimbursement.  

2.F. I will contact Spinal Research immediately if I think I will not be able to participate in the event. 

  

3.Fundraising Responsibilities 

3.A. I will create a fundraising page, or fundraise offline, under my name only.  

3.B. I understand that I cannot share a fundraising page with other participants or use the same fundraising page for multiple fundraising events unless agreed with Spinal Research. 

3.C. I will pay my registration fee under my name only unless agreed with Spinal Research. 

3.D. I agree to raise all money using legal methods and complying with the fundraising advice given by Spinal Research. 

3.E. All funds raised for Spinal Research will be made payable to Spinal Research. 

3.F. When Spinal Research establishes contact described as “urgent”, I will respond via email/telephone/in writingas quickly as possible. 

3.G. I understand that if I have any concerns about meeting my fundraising minimum, I will contact the Events Team, who are available to provide guidance and support. 

  

4.Representing Spinal Research 

4.A. When fundraising or taking part in the event, I understand that I am representing Spinal Research 

4.B. I agree to conduct myself in a respectful and responsible manner when communicating with the public, sponsors, supporters, and other participants.  

4.C. Spinal Research reserves the right to withdraw my place in the event if my behaviour is deemed inappropriate or likely to damage the charity’s reputation. 

  

5.Charity Clothing & Branding 

5.A. I understand that the official Spinal Research charity tops must not be modified and that the addition of any external logos, branding, or business names is not permitted under any circumstances. 

5.B. If I wish to promote a business or display additional logos while fundraising, I will create and wear my own fundraising top instead of the official Spinal Research top  

5.B.2. In this case, I must use the “In Aid of Spinal Research” logo and contact the Events Team to obtain the correct logo and branding guidance before producing any materials. 

  

6.Health & Eligibility 

6.A. I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, my general state of health and fitness is good and I take full responsibility for my training. I take part in this event at my own risk. 

6.B. I confirm that I will meet the minimum age required to take part in the event. For more information on age requirements, I will contact events@spinal-research.org 

  

7.Data Protection & Media 

7.A. I agree to Spinal Research storing the information that I have provided on their database. For more details on how Spinal Research handles my personal data, I will refer to the Privacy Policy at https://spinal-research.org/privacy-and-cookie-policy/ 

7.B. I give Spinal Research permission to use any photographs or videos taken of me at this event on their website and social media platforms to raise awareness of the charity. I understand that I can opt out of this by contacting events@spinal-research.org 

7.C. I agree that Spinal Research may share my details with the event organiser. 

  

8.Event Organiser Terms 

8.A. I agree to the terms and conditions set out by the event organiser for the event I am involved in. I will contact events@spinal-research.org to request the event terms and conditions if required.
